Pay Stub Passwords

Starting March 31, 2026, we’re updating how passwords are set for paystubs and W-2s for organizations that currently use full SSNs.

Going forward, any paystub or W-2 generated on or after this date will use the last 4 digits of the SSN as the password, instead of the full SSN.

This change isn’t retroactive—documents issued before March 31, 2026 will continue to use the full SSN as their password.

If your organization already uses date of birth (DOB) as the password, this update doesn’t apply to you.

There’s no change to how existing documents are accessed, and no action is required.
