When a manager is away their reportees requests won't automatically go to the secondary manager

A Manager/Approver will not be able to delegate their employee's time off requests to another manager, yet.

It is feedback we have received before and is something we are working on supporting soon.

In the meantime, it's worth letting you know that by default indirect managers (the managers' manager) will by default be able to approve pending time off requests for the away manager. They can view them in the Manage Requests tab 🧐️

 

You are also able to alter the approver manually via the policy balances page.

Hi, can we please make this happen asap? It is really uncomfortable for the C-Level to navigate through pages, scroll down lists when a manager is absent! It should be normal that the next manager gets forwarded the request!

    By default indirect managers (the managers' manager) will by default be able to approve pending time off requests for the away manager. They can view them in the Manage Requests tab.

     

    You can also always temporarily change the approver while the manager is away via  Peoples time off > Policy balances

    Hey - running into this issue also, is there any update on getting this feature? 

      We’ve run into this issue today where the manager’s manager is not able to approve in the absence of the employee’s manager. It simply says ‘operation not permitted’. Has the default changed? What is the option now when a manager is on leave?

        I’m having the same issue above. An indirect manager (the manager of the manager) gets an error when trying to approve an employee’s time off from the Manage Requests tab. It says Operation not Permitted. If by default an indirect manager should be able to approve...why is this not working?
