You are able to exclude certain days from being counted when accruing the time off allowance by enabling it in the policy settings.

There is a toggle in the policy settings which will enable you to prevent certain days from counting towards the employee's accrual, an example of this is while an employee is away on unpaid leave they should not accrue holiday days.

You can enable this by going to Settings → Time Off → Policies → select the appropriate policy from the list → Actions → Edit → go to the ‘proration of allowance’ step → toggle on exclude certain days

You can select to exclude paid/unpaid time off requests by policy, or paid statutory/ bank holidays.

When this toggle is enabled there will be an information alert displayed under the "days accrued" tab in the balance activity for the policy.

Hey @Ben Edwards  - I am just trying to set this up for our unpaid leave policy in Bob. However, this I don’t seem to be able to do this if the leave allowance is ‘unlimited’, the ‘proration of allowance’ step disappears. In  Australia it is standard to not accrue leave while on unpaid leave. Is there a work around? Thank you!

@Keely Frearson You are almost there, we simply have to flip the process.😎

In order to exclude ‘unpaid leave’ policy from accruing holidays we recommend editing the holiday/annual leave policy and then excluding the unpaid leave from it.

This way when employees are on unpaid leave policy they will not accrue the leave you are excluding it from.

See the example below:

Hi @Ben Edwards,

When activating this in a policy, when will it be active from?

Thanks,
Monica

@Monica Berg Olesen Right away! Any leave requests in current/ open time off cycles will be impacted.

Hi,

Is there any way this can be enabled for a policy rather than a complete policy type? We have multiple policies within the Sick Leave policy type and would like for days to be prorated based on only one out of these policies, and not for regular sick leave.

Is this something that will be possible in the future?
