Why it’s Not Possible to use Document-type fields in a New Hire Flow

It’s possible to add Document-type fields to a New hire flow, and they will appear while filling in the employee’s details. The upload option is also visible during this step.

 

However, when reaching the final step, where a destination folder must be selected, no folders will appear.

 

This happens because the employee profile hasn’t been created yet, and Employee folders can only exist while linked to an existing employee profile, so the system can’t display available folders at this stage. This will occur even for Admins with full permissions and is not related to access settings.

 

The best option is to use the "Upload requests" feature in the Onboarding flow, which allows specific document upload requests to be included, for the new hire to complete during the Onboarding process.
