Tasks Canceled After Group Visibility Change

If you change a group's visibility from Public to Private, tasks assigned to that group may be automatically canceled.

When this happens, the tasks can’t be reopened or reassigned— even if you switch the group back to Public.

 

 

Here’s what to keep in mind:

  • Tasks can only be assigned to Public groups. When a group is Private, only the group’s creator can see and use it for assignments.

  • If a group is set to Private, any Scheduled or Incomplete tasks assigned to that group will be canceled automatically.

  • Changing the group back to Public won’t bring those tasks back.

What you’ll see:

  • Reassigning the canceled tasks isn’t possible (the option is greyed out).

  • The only way to continue is to re-trigger the full task list for the affected employee(s).

To avoid this in the future:

  • Keep task-assignment groups set to Public.

  • Avoid changing visibility for any groups used in active flows.
