Bob does not automatically terminate an employee when their contract end date passes, but you can schedule a termination in advance or set up reminders to help make sure it isn’t missed.

If an employee has a fixed and confirmed contract end date, you can schedule their termination ahead of time:

  1. Go to the employee’s profile.
  2. Select Actions > Change work status > Terminate employee > Terminate.
  3. Enter the employee’s future contract end date as the Termination date.
  4. Complete the termination process.

The termination will then be scheduled to take effect on the date you entered.

Alternatively, you can use a date field and an automatic task list to remind the relevant team members when an employee’s contract is due to end.

  1. Go to Settings > Data management > People’s data fields.
  2. Create a custom date field, such as Contract end date.
  3. Use this date as the anchor event for an automatic task list.
  4. Set reminders for the relevant team members so they can take the required action.

Important to keep in mind: If you decide to create a custom field, remember that in order for the Task list to trigger, the field needs to be populated.
