In the Task List setup, under "Date field > Event date", you'll still see default Date fields that have been archived. This only applies to default out-of-the-box fields in Bob, like "Probation End Date" or "Work Anniversary", and can lead to confusion if they’re still selected as Anchor Events.
If a Task List is using one of these archived default fields, it won’t be able to trigger automatically.
The recommended workaround:
1. Restore the archived default field
2. Rename it to something easily recognisable like "Probation End Date (legacy)"
3. Archive it again
This helps you identify any archived fields still connected to Task Lists and avoids silent failures.
This behaviour doesn’t apply to all default fields - some can’t be archived at all, such as:
- Work Effective Date
- Address Effective Date
Bonus tip:
Default “Effective date” fields from core tables (like the Work or Address table) show the table name as a prefix in the dropdown.
If you rename one of these fields, that prefix is removed, so it’s important to give renamed fields a clear, descriptive label like Effective Date (Work) to keep them recognizable in the Task List setup.
