If employees are seeing the My Career page and you’re not sure why, it’s usually because the Skills feature is enabled.
In Bob, the visibility of My Career is directly tied to Skills. Once Skills is turned on, the My Career section automatically becomes visible to employees as part of the Talent product experience.
If you’re not ready for employees to access My Career yet, here are your options.
Option 1: Turn Off Skills
If you don’t need Skills at this stage, you can disable it completely:
Go to Settings > Account > Feature management
Turn off Skills
Once Skills is disabled, the My Career page will no longer appear for employees.
Keep in mind that this also disables all Skills functionality for admins.
Option 2: Restrict What Employees Can Access
If you’d like to keep Skills enabled for admins but limit employee access, you can adjust permissions instead.
While you can’t fully hide the My Career page once Skills is enabled, you can control what employees can see and interact with:
Go to Settings > Permissions
Open the All people – Own data permission group
Review access to Job profiles
If employees don’t have permission to view their job profiles, the My Career page won’t display actionable content for them.
This allows you to restrict employee interactions while keeping Skills available for admins.
