Not able to / Cannot submit performance review

If, when we click on submit, there’s the message “Review wasn’t submitted - Refresh the page, or try again in a few minutes”, it's important to take in consideration that there might be a private category on a review other than a Manager review.

Private categories are visible only to managers and should be used in "Manager reviews". Making a category private in other type of reviews (Self, Peer, Upward, Custom), would mean the employee would not be able to see this category and, hence, finish the review. This is usually the reason for this error to appear.

To amend it, you’ll need to go:

  • From the top left, click Bob products
  • Select Talent
  • You will find in the left menu the option Performance
  • Select Manage cycles
  • Click on the intended cycle
  • Go to the section Forms
  • Click on the 3 dots at the right of the form you want to change
  • Select Edit
  • Find the private category in the form
  • Click on the pencil icon on the category
  • Untick the option to “Restrict visibility to managers only”
  • Click Done on the category and the form
  • Save the cycle

@Ana Russo Hi Ana, I hope you are well.

Could you please explain in more detail how the “restrict visibility to managers only” functionality works?
Is it designed to have a single form for everyone, where visibility is limited to all apart from managers for specific sections?

I’ve created a cycle that includes self, manager, and peers, but I’ve set up a different form for each of them.
So, if I’m not mistaken, I should untick “restrict visibility to managers only” for all of them, right?
Thanks,

Hi @Francisco Martin

The "restrict visibility to managers only" functionality is designed to limit the visibility of specific sections or categories within a performance review form to managers only. This functionality is typically used in manager reviews, where certain private categories are intended to be visible only to managers. If this restriction is applied to other types of reviews (e.g., self, peer, upward, or custom reviews), it can cause issues such as employees being unable to see or complete their reviews properly.

In your case, since you have created separate forms for self, manager, and peer reviews, you should untick the "restrict visibility to managers only" option for all forms except the manager review form. This ensures that employees and peers can view and complete their respective reviews without encountering visibility issues.

Related to this, I would like to understand how we can add a question in Peer reviews that would only be visible to manager, not the employee, such as:
“Would you like to share any additional feedback or context with the employee’s manager?
(These comments will be visible only to the employee’s manager— helpful for coaching or development planning.)”

Because otherwise we want to share all the feedback (with setting after the cycle is closed) to the employee being reviewed, but we would like to offer one question at the end of the form to be able to share feedback only with the employee’s manager if needed.
