AI Performance Review Summary Doesn’t Match Ratings

Sometimes the AI-generated summary in Performance reviews may not fully align with the numerical ratings shown in the review.

This can happen when the AI analyzes both the numeric ratings and the written feedback provided by reviewers. If the written comments suggest mixed or neutral sentiment, the AI summary may describe the overall performance as “average,” even when the ratings themselves are Exceptional or Exceeding.

It’s important to note that the official performance evaluation is always based on the actual ratings given by peers and managers. The AI summary is a supporting tool only and does not override or change those ratings.

If you notice a mismatch like this, you have two options:

You can ignore the AI summary and rely on the ratings, which are the authoritative source for performance outcomes.

If you prefer not to use AI summaries at all, you can disable the AI summary feature from the admin settings.

The AI summary is designed to provide additional context, but it should always be interpreted alongside the full review data—not as a replacement for ratings.
