When upgrading or running the job mapping wizard, you may notice archived jobs appearing in some steps but not others. This is expected behavior and depends on how those jobs were previously used.
Archived jobs can appear in the Map job roles step if they were ever assigned to an employee, past or present. Even if a job is archived, it still needs to be mapped to ensure historical employee data remains accurate.
In contrast, archived jobs are intentionally hidden in the Review job profile step, so you’re only reviewing active and relevant job profiles at that stage.
The key rule to remember is:
Any job that has been used by an employee must be mapped, regardless of whether it’s currently archived.
As you move through the wizard, you’ll also see in-product guidance explaining why different steps show different job lists. Each step serves a specific purpose, so seeing different sets of jobs is intentional. If you’re unsure why an archived job appears, check whether it was ever assigned to an employee.
