NetSuite Sync Error: DUP_EMPL_ENTITY_NAME During Employee Creation

When syncing employees to NetSuite, you may see the following error:

Failed to create employee: ERROR - DUP_EMPL_ENTITY_NAME - There is already an employee with external access to this account using that entity name. All employees with external access must have a unique entity name for login purposes.

Even though the message references a duplicate entity name, in most cases this error is caused by missing permissions on the NetSuite integration role, not by an actual duplicate employee.

Based on guidance previously shared by the NetSuite team, this error appears when the integration role does not have sufficient access to subsidiaries or search permissions required to complete employee creation.

How to resolve the error:

In NetSuite, update the integration role used for the Bob–NetSuite connection and confirm the following permissions are set:

* ACCESSIBLE SUBSIDIARIES (javascript:void(%22help%22)) = All

* On PERMISSIONS->LISTS->PERFORM SEARCH=FULL

Once these permissions are updated, re-run the sync in Bob.

If the issue continues after updating these permissions, or if you need help granting them, please loop in NetSuite support team.
