You can connect Bob with Slack for actions and notifications, but profile details don’t sync between the two systems.
The Bob–Slack integration currently only supports two features:
- The Bob Slack app, which lets employees take quick actions and receive notifications. For more information, read: Bob Slack App
- Automations that post messages to Slack channels based on events in Bob. For more information, read: Slack Automation
Profile information, like Slack usernames, doesn’t update automatically in either direction. This is because the integration functions on a one-way basis, meaning, it transfers information from HiBob to Slack but not the other way around. Because of this, it isn’t possible to map or automatically sync employees’ Slack usernames directly into their Bob profiles.
If you want to store Slack usernames in Bob, you can create a custom field such as Slack username and either:
- Ask employees to fill it in manually
- Bulk-update the field with an import
