Notifications for Tasks in the "Recently Assigned" Widget Are Not Appearing

If you’ve noticed that notifications for tasks, approvals, eSign requests, and similar items are no longer appearing in the "Recently Assigned" widget, here are some possible reasons:

1. Notifications Expire After 30 Days

The tasks and notifications displayed in this widget are designed to show only recently assigned tasks. As a result, notifications are automatically removed after 30 days and will no longer appear.

2. Active Status Requirement

The widget only displays notifications for users with an "Active" status. Users with other statuses, such as unverified accounts, will not receive these notifications since the system does not send notifications to unverified accounts.

Important to Note:

These settings are designed to ensure that the system focuses on relevant tasks for active users and highlights recently assigned tasks.

Hi @Pedro Catarino, this feature is causing a real issue for us. While ideally people would deal with all task within 30 days, it does not always happen. When tasks etc disappear off the home page they are effectively out of sight, out of mind, meaning they do not get done.

I just chased a couple of employees up about completing lifecycle feedback surveys (that had dropped off their homepage) and they had absolutely no idea where to go to find them. I had to provide the following explanation: Go to the 9 dot square in the top left hand corner of Bob and select Talent > Surveys, then change the ‘Sent on’ filter that says Last 30 days to - none-. You can then see your outstanding surveys there. This is a lot of hoops to jump through when ideally there would just be a link to it on their homepage. It is actually creating more work for the P&C team chasing unfinished tasks and explaining how to find them.

I would be interested to know if other users are like us and would prefer all tasks to sit on the home page until they’re done?

Hi @ChristieB! This is an interesting use case since it’s not related to tasks (which admins can mark as complete on behalf of users from the Manage Tasks page) but instead, Surveys which are required to be completed by the employees themselves and there’s no other management option.

I’m going to pass this feedback over to our Product Team so they’re aware of the need for Talent related notifications to remain longer than 30 days - it is a great suggestion!

Hi @Lindsay Sinenberg thanks for responding . For us the issue is all tasks, surveys, documents etc disappearing off the home page. For example we ask people to read and acknowledge a Policy - if they don't get to it fast enough, it disappears and then gets forgotten. Again, we are having to run reports and follow people up, rather than just asking them to go to their home page and deal with all outstanding items. Approvals and Tasks are creating a similar issue. We just need them all to stay on the home page until they are completed.

Hi @ChristieB

Thank you for clarification! I’ll make sure to share this feedback as well 🙏🏻

@Netta Brodsky How is this going? We are also having issues with tasks disappearing from the home page and are no longer visible for managers, and as @ChristieB mentions, if it’s out of sight it’s out of mind. It would be a great advantage to have all tasks stay on the home page until they are completed. We also have some tasks that have a longer due period than 30 days, which means they are not required or may not even be possible to complete the task within the period the task is kept on the home page.

Hi @Fanny

No update on an eta here atm, but we have passed this suggestion and feedback on.

For the longer tasks, we always encourage the use of the due date feature so that assignees get the reminder 🤓

@Maital Terdiman  Thank you for the reply. Yes we use the due date feature, so at least they get a reminder :) which is good.

@Maital Terdiman  - please can you add Paymentology to this feedback/feature request to allow for the notifications on the home page to stay longer than 30 days.

our use case is exactly the same as Fanny and Christie. We have long lead time on some of our tasks, and a reminder when due, leaves things until the last minute as opposed to visual/constant reminder. 🤓

Does anyone know how fast this line with Recently assigned tasks disappear? Cause we have an issue with Approve Time Off requests. It shows that there is 1 to approve but when you click on it it has a way more, and then after some time it can disappear at all.

@Iaroslav Iegupov 30 days

yes 100%  when the tasks go from the home page they are out of sight out of mind it would be some much better if they stayed on people home page till complete I'm am spending far too much time chasing people to do stuff

@Maital Terdiman Has there been any update on this? If this is an ongoing FR please can you add us to the list? We’re in the same boat and would prefer the Recently Assigned section to be constantly visible if there are any outstanding actions for the user.

Rather than “Recently Assigned” could this be renamed as “Incomplete Actions” or similar so that they can remain top of the home page until they’re completed?

love this idea as those who has tasks after 30 days don't bother going to look for them unless told and then even with manual prompts its still not enough at least if these where stuck on the homepage every time they logged in it was in their face it really might bring down the incomplete tasks we have

The notifications aren’t showing for any learning .  They have not expired and they are active.  What else might be causing this ?

Hello, are you able to advise where you can find the due date feature to support these tasks. We need the due date to be based on the flow, not the task, since the task list didn’t kick in until the flow has been completed. Can I also be added to the FR for these to remain as tasks for longer than 30 days.

Thanks
