If a candidate has already been moved to the Hired stage, you can't move them back to the Offer stage directly. This article explains the available workaround if you need to continue the hiring process, such as sending a new employment contract.

  1. Go to the candidate's application.
  2. Select Actions.
  3. Choose Reject or Withdraw the application.
  4. When prompted, do not send an email to the candidate.
  5. Once the application is rejected or withdrawn, select Reopen application.

The application status changes from Pending hire to In progress.

You can now move the candidate through the hiring pipeline again, including back to the Offer stage if needed.

Note: There isn't currently a way to reopen a candidate directly from the Hired stage without first rejecting or withdrawing the application.

This did not work for us. Can you confirm you’re able to reject an applicant when in Hired status? These options are greyed out for our team. Or, this only works before they have been created as an employee profile?

Hi! I had the exact same issue and reached out to support. Sharing the solution they provided below—hope this helps!

The recommended path forward in this situation is to use a duplicate job opening approach. Here is how to proceed:

First, create a duplicate of the original job opening. You can do this from within the Hiring module by locating the original job opening and duplicating it.

Once the duplicate job opening is created, add the candidate's application to this new job opening.

From there, move the candidate to the Offer stage within the new job opening.

You can then proceed with the standard offer and approval workflow, including setting up the offer template, sending it for approval, and ultimately sending it to the candidate for signature.

Once the candidate has signed the offer, you can then move them to the Hired stage in the new job opening and continue with the onboarding process as normal.

This approach ensures the offer signing flow is fully restored and the candidate receives their offer without any disruption to their experience.
