Hello again @Johnny Barnett , I implemented this change last night and people are busy updating their profiles today. However, it doesn’t seem to be updating the homepage? Do you know if the system takes a while to catch up? It seemed to work well last night and removed everyone from the upcoming birthdays section on the homepage. This morning everyone is back again and i havent changed anything! 😕

If you have any insight on this or any tips and tricks it would be much appreciated!

Thanks

Ooo I am not sure, someone reached out to me on LinkdIn with a similar issue but I can’t say we’ve had any problem.

As long as the access data is :

and the permission group is assigned to everyone, and the Birthday category is hidden in all other permission groups it should work as intended.

Although to follow up, it looks like ours has now broken too. It looks as though something might have changed in Bobs backend as that category isn’t visible but is still showing up.

EDIT : Seems to be hit or miss which is concerning, both myself and my manager are Admins on Bob, she can see all birthdays even when impersonating users, yet I only see public on either my own account or when impersonating.

Any other feedback on whether the solution seems to be broken or not? I also have a request to hide an employee’s birthdate. Trying to save myself the time and effort for it to only initially work and then revert back or just not work at all. Thank you!

Hello @lauraduma,

It all seems to be working for us. I dont know if it was just a glitch in the system that day, but when we’ve checked it since it has “hidden” the correct people and no one has come to use to tell us that their birthday was made public when it should have been private.

I think the system does take a day or so to settle, then seems to be ok after that,

Hiya,

Yes can confirm this is now working as intended, it seemed there was a bug in the system but Bob Support was quick to sort this out for us.
