Field Level Permissions - Inherit Category-Level Permissions for New Fields

When you create a new field in a category, you can choose to have it inherit the category’s existing permissions.

By default, new fields are created without any permissions. This is expected behavior and helps prevent potentially sensitive information from automatically becoming accessible to everyone with access to the category.

To have a new field inherit the category-level permissions:

1. When adding the new field, go to the Permission tab.
2. Select Inherit Category-level permissions.
3. Save the new field.

The new field will then be granted permissions based on the permissions configured for its category.
