Using Field Brackets in Right-to-Left Language Templates

When creating E-Sign templates in right-to-left (RTL) languages, like Hebrew or Arabic, special formatting is required to ensure field placeholders are recognized correctly.

🧩 How to format field brackets in RTL templates

  • Flip the brackets: Use mirrored brackets so the system can read the fields properly

  • ✅ Use: }}field name{{

  • ❌ Don’t use: {{field name}}

This ensures Bob’s document processing engine correctly identifies the field, even in RTL text flow.

Why it matters

Bob reads text directionally. Since Hebrew and Arabic are read right-to-left, reversed bracket orientation is required for field recognition to work as expected.

✅ Best practice

Always test your template with a sample document before sending it out. This helps confirm that all placeholders are being correctly recognized and populated.

💡 Tip: Use the Preview button in the eSign template builder to select an employee and view the document from their perspective. This is especially helpful when working with RTL languages, as it lets you confirm mirrored field brackets are functioning properly before sending.
