When the compensation event is not pulling the rating from the latest review cycle, we would need to check 2 things.
The first thing would be to check if the review cycle settings, to see if performance rating is enabled. Then check if the question selected to have rating is a "Scale" type question, as ratings will not work for other question types.
Then, click on "Refresh performance ratings" in the compensation event in order to update the rating in the event:
