Does anyone have any idea how we can set up a new Leave Policy for Parental Leave for the employee to take at half pay? I can see that the UK Payroll has the ability but can’t see it as an option here in AUS

Hi @Deeanne Martin!

I went though this same issue. My workaround was to change the employees employment entry to 50% of their current hours for the period they are on PPL at half pay. Just bear in mind this will impact leave accruals as well.

Very keen to hear what others have come up with though.

we built out PL in 2 policies for half and full pay (or as above you can see 5 options as we run on 3 pay frequencies). We provide the balance as unlimited and rely on a combo of honour, reading instructions & the approvals being accountable for checking before approving.

This also allows us to put custom text on the allowed length. We provide 8 weeks full pay:

we use the instructions box on the request page in the set up to house this info:

This allow makes it easier for payroll to know if they should pay half or full when they audit the payruns; they manually adjust in the payroll system (we use keypay aka employment hero) to half pay if the request has half pay in the title.

@Sam Mortimer, consideration on how we can approach.
