Experiences with Danish payroll systems Zynegy or Intect integration with HiBob?🤔💬

Hi everyone,

We are currently evaluating our payroll setup and looking into switching to a new payroll system. The two candidates we are considering are Zynegy and Intect.

Since we use HiBob as our core HRIS, a smooth, automated, and reliable integration between Bob and our payroll system is an absolute top priority for us.

Before making our final decision, we would love to hear from this amazing community!

  • Do any of you have experience using either Zynegy or Intech alongside HiBob?

  • How does the integration perform in daily operations? Is it a standard API, or did you have to build a custom integration/rely on file transfers?

  • Any pros, cons, or "lessons learned" that you would be willing to share?

Any insights—big or small—would be incredibly helpful to us right now.

Thank you so much in advance! 🙏🌟

Hi Preben,

there are two ways to integrate Zenegy with HiBob - through HiBob Payroll hub or through a partner based API integration.

If you use the integration through HiBob’s Payroll Hub, which is an additional module you can add to your account, the integration will be filebased, i.e. HiBob will create monthly reports that are automatically mapped to the Zenegy fields. You can then upload the report to Zenegy to run payroll. Note, that it cannot process terminations, and that absences are only processed in hours.

If you opt for a partner-based integration via BrynQ, you will get a direct API integration. If you want an automated integration, and as little manual steps as possible, this is probably the safest bet.

Let me know if you have any further questions. We have just been through the same selection process ourselves.

Hi Preben,

We use the HiBob’s Payroll Hub for Zenegy, and it’s exactly as Claudia described. The only small detail I’d note is that holidays are uploaded in days rather than hours (thankfully!).

Generally, the file upload works well for new joiners. I have some challenges with the file for changes, so still do most of those manually in Zenegy. As Claudia mentioned, it doesn’t help with terminations. That said, we have a small headcount in Denmark right now and as holiday registration in Zenegy was a big pain point for us, we still opted for this setup over BrynQ - and the holiday file upload does work reliably.

Assuming we stick with HiBob and Zenegy in the long-term though, I would definitely reconsider BrynQ, unless HiBob develops their Payroll Hub for Zenegy extensively. It’s helpful, but not automated or the smoothest integration one would want.

Happy to answer more specifics. 😊

Hi Chrissy, thanks for sharing.

Are you happy with Zenegy? Or are you missing some functionality?

We are considering switching to Zenegy and BrynQ to make everything flow from one system to the other. I hope that will work. I hear that Zenegy has some shortcomings and their support is poor. What is your experience with Zenegy in general?

Regards, Preben

Hi Preben,

We’ve been happy with Zenegy for several years now, and while I’ve occasionally struggled with their support (mainly in terms of clarity), I actually have found it quite good. They have recently moved to an AI chatbot rather than live chat support, and that’s hit or miss depending on complexity. That said, I still find their email support at this point speedy enough. I don’t have much to say functionality wise, we haven’t experienced any significant issues at least in my time using it - around a year.
