Hey @Keren Ringel

We’ve been setting up Tasks and automated Task Flows and noticed one thing - calendar invitations land on the weekend.
I went through discussions in the Community and noticed that a request to change this, to have only weekdays applied was generated over a year ago.
Can you give me an update on where this is or if there’s a way to set the Tasks so that they create events only on weekdays?

Thanks!

kaisa

Thanks for the great questions @Kaisa Ravaska

Currently, Bob calculates task scheduling using all 7 days of the week, including weekends. There is no built-in option to automatically skip non-working days, which means tasks set to trigger a certain number of days before or after an anchor event may naturally land on a Saturday or Sunday.

In the meantime, there are a few practical workarounds that can help reduce weekend scheduling:

First, you can adjust the day offset for your tasks by adding extra days to account for weekends. For example, if a task is meant to trigger 5 working days after an event, setting it to 7 days instead can help shift it past the weekend.

Second, for tasks that include calendar invitations, you can configure them to send the invite a few days before the actual event date. This gives the organizer time to review the scheduled date and manually move it if it falls on a weekend.

Third, you can add a note directly in the task description, prompting the assignee or organizer to check whether the date falls on a weekend and adjust accordingly.

Finally, for key meetings or check-ins, using manual calendar tasks instead of automated ones gives you full control over the scheduling date.

These workarounds are the most effective options available at this time; However, if this is still an issue for you I recommend submitting a support ticket so our CX team can log your use case as product feedback, so our product teams can look into this moving forward 🙏

I hope this helps

Best

Keren

Hi Keren!

Thank you for your message! I was reading through the community and apparently, a support ticket and change request for excluding the weekends has already been submitted over 1 year ago. Any chance you could look into it and give me some insights into where that development is?

Some of your workarounds could work but I don’t find them very feasable for all cases.

Technically, it is pretty simple to set the rule not to create tasks on a weekend. I’ve done it in my own platform so that’s why I know. ;)

Hi @Kaisa Ravaska

Yes I can see the product feedback ticket internally, and it is assigned to our developers but has not been assigned a date yet unfortunately.

If you want to add your vote and be notified personally on any update, I recommend submitting a ticket so they can add you and keep you posted

Best
